Football League

At Carleton House, our football club is led by Mr Finch, with support from Mr Binns, providing an exciting opportunity for selected pupils to represent the school in football matches across Liverpool. Each year, our school competes in the Primary School Football League, playing fixtures against a range of schools. Matches are held on top-quality 4G AstroTurf pitches around the city, and results contribute to an end-of-year league table. Typically, we participate in 7-10 fixtures over the course of the academic year, although the number may vary based on the league’s entrants.
As part of representing the school, our footballers are encouraged to adhere to the FA’s Respect Code of Conduct, which includes playing fairly and showing respect for their teammates, opponents, and referees. At the conclusion of each game, players are encouraged to shake hands with the other team and the referee, promoting sportsmanship and camaraderie.
Beyond competition, football at Carleton House is an opportunity for children to develop not only their technical and tactical skills but also their physical and social abilities. While we encourage pupils to perform to the best of their abilities, the emphasis is always on having fun and enjoying the sport in a supportive environment.
