Athletics
At Carleton House Preparatory School, athletics is a key component of our PE curriculum, fostering physical fitness, teamwork, and personal achievement. Our Specialist PE teacher leads dedicated athletics training sessions during PE lessons, ensuring that all pupils develop fundamental skills in running, jumping, and throwing events. These sessions aim to build confidence and competence in various athletic disciplines, encouraging pupils to challenge themselves and celebrate personal progress.
To further support our pupils in preparation for inter-school competitions, we hire the Wavertree Athletic Track, securing sole use of this high-quality facility. This allows our pupils to train in a professional environment, honing their skills on a full-sized track and practising for events such as sprints, long-distance runs, and field events. Our access to this track is a vital part of our preparation for the competitive season.
Each year, Carleton House proudly participates in the Liverpool Schools Athletic Championships, where our pupils compete against other schools across the city. These events offer a fantastic opportunity for our young athletes to showcase their abilities, experience the thrill of competition, and represent our school with pride.
Our commitment to athletics ensures that every pupil has the chance to enjoy the benefits of physical activity, develop sportsmanship, and celebrate their achievements in a supportive and encouraging environment.
